This special property, located on the Silverberg in Roeselare, has been preceded by a lot of design work by Buro II. The house for which no brick was used, is entirely made out of concrete, metal and wood. For Rita and Dirk it had to be something unique. Hence, the right choice for the right home automation system wasn't obvious. It was not to be noticeable in the interior, had to be not only esthetical but also control audio, lighting and heating. Above all it had to command the 120-kg weighing heavy hatches . When it appeared that this could only work via CAN bus, the protocol of the system Duotecno was using, the choice was made. The rapid bus system appeared to be the only system which had the ability to move the special hatches all in one go forward. 2 years later, the Duotecno videophone was integrated as well.
